March 1, 2020 | Author : Julien Laporte

Québec City is the capital city of the Canadian province of Québec, with a cliff-top position above the the Saint Lawrence River; in Canada’s mostly French-speaking province. Dating to 1608, it has a fortified colonial core with stone buildings and narrow streets. About half the buildings in the Historic District of Old Québec were built before 1850, which is impressive. Some even date back to the era of New France. Québec City has seen many battles and sieges from the British. To defend against such attacks, a wall along with cannons were built around Québec City in 1690. Québec is touristic in nature, so here are the top 5 best this to do in the city:

The Château Frontenac is located in the heart of Québec City and will make you feel like you’re in some kind of fairy tale. The castle is actually a luxury hotel that is too outstanding to put into words. The hotel is open to be visited by the public, even if you aren’t staying there. The hotel is famously known to be haunted by its previous founder. He unfortunately died on the Titanic before it was finished being built, so staff believe he stayed around to make sure the place was to his standards.
