Canadian Museum of History

In Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, there is a national museum dedicated to anthropology, Canadian history, cultural studies, and ethnology called the Canadian Museum of History (French: Musée canadien de l’histoire). The museum’s goals are to encourage relevant research while promoting Canada’s heritage. The museum is housed in a Douglas Cardinal-designed structure measuring 75,000 square meters.

The museum has its start as a Geological Survey of Canada museum that opened its doors in 1856 and eventually grew to incorporate an anthropology division in 1910.
