Located 35 kilometres east of Pemberton in British Columbia, Canada, is the class A provincial park known as Joffre Lakes Provincial Park. When the 1988-founded Joffre Lakes Recreation Area was turned into a park, it became official in 1996. The Lower, Middle, and Upper Joffre Lakes are three lakes in the park that are supplied by glaciers. The lakes’ turquoise tint is caused by the reflection of blue and green waves in the water caused by the rock flour.
