James J. Hill House

Railroad tycoon James J. Hill erected the James J. Hill House in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in the United States. Completed in 1891, the house is located close to the Cathedral of Saint Paul, at the eastern end of Summit Avenue. Until James J. Hill passed away in 1916, the enormous home served as the “showcase of St. Paul” and was quite vast for its day. Run by the Minnesota Historical Society, it is designated as a U.S. National Historic Landmark. It contributes to the Historic Hill District as well.
