Lincoln Highway

One of the country’s first transcontinental routes and one of the first built specifically with automobiles in mind is the Lincoln Highway. The Lincoln Highway was officially dedicated on October 31, 1913, after being conceived in 1912 by Indiana businessman Carl G. Fisher. It stretches from Times Square in New York City west to Lincoln Park in San Francisco.
