Built on a hilltop with a view of Nassau’s harbour, Fort Charlotte is a remnant of the British colonial era in the Bahamas. The cruise ship terminal and Nassau’s city are only a short stroll west of the fort. Following the conclusion of the American Revolutionary War, British colonial governor Lord Dunmore built the fort in the late 1700s. There has never been a combat using the fort.
