Parque El Picacho

Tegucigalpa Together with Comayagüela, its sister city, Tegucigalpa, Municipality of the Central District, is the official name of Honduras’ capital and largest city. Locally, many just call it Tegus or Teguz. Assumed by the Spanish on September 29, 1578, Tegucigalpa was established as the capital of Honduras on October 30, 1880, with President Marco Aurelio Soto in charge.
