Cape Spear is a headland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, situated close to St. John’s on the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland. With the exception of Greenland, it is the easternmost point of North America and Canada at 52°37′ W longitude. Approximately 12 miles from St. John’s downtown, Cape Spear is situated inside the city’s limits.
