Isla Holbox Beach

On the northern coast of the Yucatán Peninsula, in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, sits the island of Holbox. It is roughly 41.84 kilometres long and 1.5 kilometres wide. A shallow lagoon that is home to flamingos, pelicans, and other abundant birds separates it from the mainland by 10 kilometres.
