Kluane National Park

In the southwest of Yukon’s territory are two protected areas: Kluane National Park and Reserve. In 1972, the National Park Reserve was designated as a national park, subject to the resolution of First Nations land claims. 22,013 square kilometres (8,499 square miles) were encompassed by it. An eastern section of the Reserve was the subject of an agreement with the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations, and in 1993 it was designated as a national park.
