An manmade lake called Lake Burley Griffin is located in the heart of Canberra, Australia’s capital. After the Molonglo River, which ran between the Parliamentary Triangle and the city centre, was dammed, it was finished in 1963. It bears Walter Burley Griffin’s name, the American architect who emerged victorious in the competition to create the city of Canberra’s design.
