Legislative Assembly of Nunavut

The legislative body for the Canadian territory of Nunavut is called the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut. The Legislative Building of Nunavut, located in Iqaluit, serves as the Assembly’s seat. The 1999 Nunavut general election was held on February 15, 1999, to elect the first Nunavut Legislature, before Nunavut was officially recognized as a territory of Canada on April 1, 1999.
