The Library of Congress (LOC) is a research library located in Washington, D.C. that functions as both the de facto national library of the United States and the library and research service of the United States Congress. The library is the oldest federal cultural institution in the United States, having been established in 1800. On Capitol Hill, the library is situated in three opulent structures. Scenes from the movie “The National Treasure 2004” were shot within the building.
