Minto-Brown Island Park

Isaac Brown settled on what became known as Brown’s Island, close to the Willamette River’s west bank, in 1857. Brown grew tobacco, farm products, and livestock there. John Minto cleared and bought land on an island close to the east bank in 1867, converting it to a fruitful farm.
