Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal


The Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal is situated in Montréal, Québec. Established on June 1st, 1964, it is Canada’s first museum solely dedicated to contemporary art. Initially housed in temporary locations at the Place Ville-Marie starting in March 1965, the museum moved to the Château Dufresne in June 1965, and then, starting in 1968, it relocated to the city of Havre in the structure housing the International Gallery of Art for the 1967 Universal Exhibition.
