Terry Fox Monument

Located on the outskirts of Thunder Bay, Ontario, the Terry Fox Monument honours the Marathon of Hope, a campaign by cancer research campaigner Terry Fox. The public can view the monument, which features a portrait of Fox, and also provides a broad perspective of Thunder Bay and the surrounding area. Manfred Pervich, a sculptor, made the statue to commemorate the location where Fox was compelled to end his campaign on August 31, 1980. It’s roughly four kilometres west of the precise location—designated by a road sign—where Fox finished his run.
