Waimea Canyon State Park

Located on the western side of Kauaʻi in the Hawaiian Islands of the United States, Waimea Canyon, commonly referred to as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, is a massive canyon that stretches up to 3,000 feet deep and is roughly ten miles (16 km) long. The name Waimea, which means “reddish water” in Hawaiian, alludes to the red soil erosion in the canyon.
