Situated within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in San Francisco, The Presidio of San Francisco is home to the museum. On the Main Post of the Presidio, the museum expanded and renovated three pre-existing historic buildings. The main structure, located at 104 Montgomery Street, was inaugurated on October 1, 2009, with its back facing the Parade Ground.
