Washington Capital One Arena


Washington, D.C.’s Capital One Arena is an indoor arena. Situated on top of the Gallery Place Washington Metro rapid transit station, the arena is part of the broader Penn Quarter neighborhood’s Chinatown neighbourhood. When MCI was acquired by Verizon Communications in 2006, the arena’s name was changed to Verizon Centre. It reverted to its original name in 2017. The arena first opened as MCI Centre on December 2, 1997.
