Whitehorse Emerald Lake

Southern Yukon’s Emerald Lake is a lake well-known for its vivid emerald hue. Situated at kilometre 117.5 from Skagway, Alaska, it is on the South Klondike Highway. The white deposits of marl, a combination of clay and calcium carbonate, at the bottom of the shallow waters, reflect light, giving the area its colour.
